my phone is at one percent but today was good and we learned more about what b.a.l.l. is and i felt like it was good but i’ve never been a fan of ice breakers so that was kinda awkward since i was one of the last people to have a partner. william is  good at teaching this stuff and gave us examples of real world clients and grafick design

Today we got to join our groups and start our work. I’m on the graphic design team and I’m already learning a lot. We mostly just explored how to use adobe photoshop and start on our obesity prevention post cards. We researched about obesity and started looking for images. I learned a lot today and I am looking forward to coming back tomorrow and finishing my post card.

Today was pretty interesting. We had a guest come in and talk about her life experiences and what’s been going on recently. We got into our groups and started being introduced into our groups ( Mine was Video Production)  and we started doing our group work. We then had lunch, which was delayed probably around 30-45 minutes longer than it shouldves been, but I honestly didn’t care. We then did a partner activity about B.A.L.L which I honestly almost fell asleep, but understood it. We then went back to our groups and worked more on what we were doing, and started our blogs. The end

Today was also a creative and fun day where we started off with learning about video production and film-making. We have brainstormed about our ideas on what the film’s plot will be about such as comedy, horror, or even action. We also chose our positions for filming the movie and as a team, work together to produce a great movie.

Today we went over what ball. It taught us that being bicaultural is a great thing. Also i made up ideas for the flim. Today was fun.

I disliked the walk because it was a bit chilly. Because I am in the year-round film group with AMA, the training with the video production was pretty boring and was a lot of reviewing. I learned more about bicultural and resilience. Brainstorming ideas with the group was really interesting because their minds are really creative. But overall, today was an interesting day.

Today we learned the basics of filming and what it is about. We learned different roles of a film making team and how did they affect the movie. We also came up with our first story.

gotta be honest, today I was very tired because I didn’t get enough sleep. But that was my fault. My new group was meh, but at least we’re moving around. I certainly dislike the fact that we have to eat lunch last. But at the same time, we have to serve so that’s understandable. But the least favorite part of today is the B.A.L.L lesson. MY GOD, it was super boring. The lesson should’ve been fun if it wasn’t the fact that the lesson didn’t made us entertained.  But at least I learned about BI-culture.  For now on, I’m gonna give out rates through out the program. I’ll give this, 5/10. Not too bad but not too good…

Today we were given insight of B.A.L.L(bicultural active living lifestyle) and how it applies to our daily lives. Personally for me, I am apart of two cultures with me being Somali-american. I have strong sense of cultural identity on both parts, even though sometimes my two cultures clash. In Somali culture we are more conservative than the western cultures of America, were the people end to be more loose with their morals. But in both cultures creativity is praised and loved, finding solutions are also praised in Somali culture. We value poetry and oral traditions, we tribes used to feud both tribes would send their poets and it never ended in bloodshed since words are valued.
